Minister of Investment Kholoud Saqqaf emphasized the strong political and economic relations between Jordan and Singapore, welcoming the Singaporean delegation’s visit aimed at bolstering economic partnerships between the two nations.

Under royal directives, Saqqaf highlighted Jordan’s implementation of economic reforms designed to improve the business environment, aligned with the Economic Modernization Vision 2033. These reforms include amendments to investment-related laws and legislation, alongside macroeconomic, monetary, and financial policies aimed at sustaining Jordan’s economic development. Saqqaf also emphasized the strategic importance of leveraging free trade agreements and investment deals signed with Arab and foreign countries to expand export opportunities.

Providing an overview of Jordan’s investment climate, Saqqaf detailed the incentives and benefits outlined in the Investment Environment Law and its regulations, aimed at supporting new projects and expanding existing ones. These measures are intended to enhance economic competitiveness and attract investments into the Kingdom.

Saqqaf expressed optimism about increased Singaporean investments in Jordan, calling for strengthened cooperation between Jordanian and Singaporean economic and investment institutions, and increased exchanges of visits between business leaders and private sector representatives.

The Singaporean delegation reiterated the robust bilateral relations between the two countries and their commitment to enhancing cooperation with Jordan, aiming to elevate relations to a higher level that serves mutual interests, particularly in economic and investment sectors.

The Ministry of Investment, as part of its follow-up on Crown Prince Al Hussein’s meetings in Singapore, has maintained virtual communications with investors met during the visit. Earlier in April, the ministry also hosted a Singaporean delegation specializing in the energy sector, showcasing investment opportunities and key advantages and incentives under Jordanian law. Bilateral meetings were arranged with relevant government agencies and specialized companies from Jordan’s private sector.

The meeting underscores Jordan’s proactive approach to attracting foreign investments and strengthening economic ties with strategic partners like Singapore, aiming to foster sustainable economic growth and development in the Kingdom.
