Daytona Motor Mouths July 8: A whole lot of suckage
This week the boys discuss Alex Bowman’s ongoing party, Hailie Deegan’s Xfinity team departure and a whole lot of guys on cold streaks in the Cup Series.
Sure, the Tricky Triangle aka Pocono Raceway is a unique, challenging adventure, but at least all three NASCAR series are in it together!
Yep, the Cup Series, Xfinity Series and Craftsman Truck Series are all set to run at the 2½-mile scalene with different banking in each corner and all of it, including practices and qualifying, can be watched from the comfort of home.
As far as the Cup Series is concerned, just six regular-season races remain counting Sunday’s race and playoff spots are becoming harder and harder to come by. Alex Bowman clinched his spot with a win at the Chicago Street Course last week, the 12th winner this season. Currently, Chris Buescher resides in the 16th and final spot with several drivers, including Bubba Wallace, behind him looking for a win and a golden ticket.
Denny Hamlin is the all time wins leader at Pocono with seven and is currently on top of the odds board.
