Intelligent data infrastructure: NetApp transforms data management – SiliconANGLE

Must read

With artificial intelligence and data-driven decision-making taking center stage in the enterprise world, the need for an intelligent data infrastructure has become more pronounced to meet these growing demands.

As a result, NetApp Inc. is making the intelligent data infrastructure a reality through its Unified Data Storage, which incorporates AI principles and offers a single operating environment. This enables the management of any data type regardless of whether its structured or unstructured, according to Gabie Boko (pictured), chief marketing officer of NetApp.

“We’re redefining unified to be more than just a protocol, but to be how you are integrated,” she said. “Unified can be so much more than any data, any workload, any place. We have the same principles on how we were dealing with AI. We’re redefining infrastructure to be on-prem and in the cloud, new unified storage. We’re redefining intelligence, but at the core of that is data. When you think about those three things together, that gives us intelligent data infrastructure.”

Boko spoke with theCUBE’s Rebecca Knight and Rob Strechay at the NetApp Unveils Unified Data Storage Built for the AI Era event, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed the need for an intelligent data infrastructure as AI and data continue to be forces to be reckoned with. (* Disclosure below.)

Intelligent data infrastructure as a next-gen solution

With enterprises feeling the pressure to deliver AI-powered innovations and adopt data-related initiatives, NetApp presents the intelligent data infrastructure solution from top to bottom, according to Boko. This is because the data infrastructure is made more seamless and dynamic.

“We thought about data infrastructure; we knew that it could evolve with us and with our customer’s needs,” she said. “I really think that data infrastructure is the grounding, if you will, of what we want to be committed to for our customers … it is almost like a holy cow. I’m excited about the future of data infrastructure, especially NetApp’s intelligent data infrastructure because it is the new product.”

With AI being top of mind for companies, NetApp has integrated this cutting-edge innovation in its network for better outcomes. NetApp is widening its scope to include generative AI in data management, according to Boko.

“NetApp’s been in AI for a while now actually,” she said. “We have embedded AI in a lot of our tools, at BlueXP — which is a good control plane where you’re monitoring your ransomware — some of our cloud ops solutions, where you’re able to kind of optimize your flow in between the cloud. We’re excited about the opportunity that gen AI brings to our customer’s workloads as they think about how to manage their data management.”
