IndyCar secures tech-focused Cisco deal – BlackBook Motorsport

Must read

IndyCar has named technology firm Cisco as an official partner in a deal that also covers Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS).

Contract:

  • Cisco will be tasked with securely connecting all aspects of IndyCar’s business
  • The two organisations will explore opportunities for technological enhancement across the Penske Entertainment portfolio
  • IndyCar will also now use the Webex platform for press interviews and to boost fan engagement
  • Cisco will become the presenting sponsor of IndyCar’s customer hospitality area, the Business Hub

Context:

This partnership with IndyCar adds to Cisco’s existing partnership with McLaren Racing, although that deal is only with the team’s Formula One and F1 Academy outfits.

This is IndyCar’s first new partnership of 2024, having already agreed extensions with American Medical Response, Molson Coors, NTT, and Sonsio this season. Cisco becomes the 41st official partner involved with IndyCar this year.

Comment:

“We are pleased to welcome Cisco to the NTT IndyCar Seres,” said Mark Miles, president and chief executive of Penske Entertainment Corp.

“Their focus on industry-leading innovation and premier customer service matches that of IndyCar. As the demand increases for technology, networking, and security in a fast-paced world, it is gratifying to know Cisco is by our side.

“We look forward to leveraging each other’s strengths to enhance fan experiences while continuing to drive our sport.”

Coming next:

The first Business Hub presented by Cisco will be at this weekend’s Indianapolis 500, taking place on 26th May. There will be further on-site events, including at the Detroit Grand Prix and the season finale at the Nashville Superspeedway.
