In Town For Paris 2024? Where To Shop For Jewelry During The Olympics

Must read

With Paris 2024 in full swing, all eyes have been on the City of Lights since the spectacular Opening Ceremony Friday, July 26. If you’re planning on squeezing a shopping trip into your jam-packed schedule of sporting and cultural events, these are the jewelry stores and shopping locations around the city that you won’t want to miss.

Place Vendôme

This is the historic home of high jewelry. From Boucheron to Graff, via Chaumet and Chanel, you’ll find a flagship for just about every fine jewelry house you can think of on Place Vendôme, and nearby rue de la Paix and rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré. During the 19th century, the square was home to several fashion houses, but after Paul Poiret and others began to move elsewhere in the city, the jewelers took up residence. Today, contemporary houses like Repossi and Lorenz Bäumer rub shoulders with watchmakers including Piaget and Rolex and as big-hitters like Chanel, Dior and Louis Vuitton have developed their fine jewelry offerings, there was only one place for their showrooms and the square’s reputation was cemented as the city’s jewelry hub.

Bon Marché

The city’s oldest grand magasin, is well-known for it curation of jewelry brands, with contemporary designers including Atelier Molinari and Charlotte Chesnais, as well as pop-up from the likes of So-Le Studio.

24, rue de Sèvres, 75007 Paris

Printemps Haussman

A detour from the fashion floors at Printemps is worth it, to check out a jewelry edit with wide appeal. Including both fashion jewelry and fine jewelry, you’ll find names like Alighieri and Annelise Michelseon rubbing shoulders with Suzanne Kalan and Le Gramme, alongside concessions from classic Paris jewelry brands like Chanel, Tiffany & Co and Chaumet.

64, boulevard Haussman, 75009 Paris

Mad Lords

This edgy store caters for a discerning contemporary client looking for more under-the-radar designers who marry aesthetics with artistry and a spiritual approach to gemstones and talismans. T; think Chrome Hearts, Polly Wales and Jacquie Aiche.

316-320 rue Saint-Honoré, 75001 Paris

White Bird

Paris’ best-known destination for international independent jewelry designers ranging from Japanese designer Yasuko Azuma, to Dutch artist Bibi van der Velden and New York-based Alice Waese, as well as its own label, We by Whitebird. With three stores now in Paris, owner Stéphanie Roger’s sharp selection and warm welcome is available across the city.

38, rue du Mont-Thabor, 75001 Paris

62, rue des Saints-Pères, 75007 Paris

7, boulevard des Filles du Calvaire, 75003 Paris

Elsewhere, independent designers with standalone stores and showrooms will be full of treasures you won’t find at home.

Known for her irreverent, soulful jewelry, a private appointment at Marie Lichtenberg’s beautiful Left Bank showroom is a chance to see her full range of finely crafted statement pieces — and of course, the hit Love Lockets. Nearby, Marie Poniatowski at Stone Paris (60, rue des Saints-Pères and 28, rue de Mont-Thabor) is behind the diamond huggies that have become de rigueur for the style set, while from her atelier-boutique up in SoPi, Myrtille Beck (20, rue Henry Monnier) specializes in beautifully delicate jewelry inspired by antique Victorian jewels.

Back on the Right Bank, visit JEM at 10, rue d’Alger, a lab-grown diamond and sustainable jewelry specialist with a decidedly Art Deco aesthetic, and take a stroll down rue du mont-Thabor, for outposts of Stone Paris and White Bird, as well as the ever-so parisian designer Pascale Monvoisin at number 10. Also nearby, on the rue du Marché Saint-Honoré, are Morganne Bello for minimalist, wearable precious stone talismans and Garnazelle, known for distinctive statement rings in eye-popping colors – don’t miss the more accessible diffusion line, Gaya by Garnazelle for addictively colorful earrings and huggies you’ll be dying to stack.

Over on chic Avenue Montaigne, make an appointment at the Rainbow K showroom, for trend-led, super-stylish pieces including the Eyet collection designed to celebrate the unity of the Olympic Games. Nearby, Yvonne Leon’s store at 40, rue François 1re offers a popular interpretation of Parisian elegance with a touch of whimsy, in a plush, pink and cream showcase.
