WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Wilmington International Airport on Sept. 23 announced that it has received $20 million in federal grants to fund improvements at the airport.

Of that amount, $18.1 million will go to Airport Boulevard realignment and a new terminal curb front, $900,000 will go to terminal design and $1 million will go to general aviation improvements.

The funding comes from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and FAA’s Airport Improvement Program.

“These federal grants are a significant piece in filling out ILM’s 5-year capital plan, as laid out in the airport’s vision plan,” stated Jeff Bourk, ILM Airport Director. “The grants ensure we have the funding to move forward with the roadway realignment and terminal curb project, planned to be complete by fall 2026.”
