The Empty Stocking Fund: How to give back with Knox News
Our goal is to distribute food to 3,000 families during the holidays this year.
The Knox News Holiday Lights Map is back for 2024! We’re here to light up your holidays and support our News Sentinel Charities Empty Stocking Fund.
The map features our community’s most elaborate displays so you and your loved ones can take a drive to hit the highlights.
It’s easy to get your home, business or church listed on our map.
To be added, please make a donation of at least $20 to the Empty Stocking Fund at esfknox.org. There’s a section on the donation form where you can say you want your address included in this year’s map.
If you mail us a check, please attach a note about your preference along with your holiday lights address. Empty Stocking Fund checks can be mailed to 2332 News Sentinel Drive, Knoxville TN 37921.
Look for the map on knoxnews.com before Thanksgiving, and check back often as we receive more submissions!
Every penny donated to the Empty Stocking Fund, including gifts made for the Holiday Lights Map, help to pay for our annual Christmas meal distribution to those in need. This year, we will serve 3,050 families. Each family will receive items for a healthy, festive meal including a 5-pound ham, fresh produce, bread, sides and staples.
The idea is to provide items families can’t always get from food pantries so they can come together in the spirit of the season. We’re proud to have helped East Tennessee families since the early 1900s!
