BLAIR COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — A campground in Blair County that’s nearly a century old needs some financial support.
Officials at Camp Anderson say the camp will be 100 years old next year, but they’re having problems meeting the needs of replacing infrastructure, including the septic system.
The camp was able to get a grant that paid for half of it, and the ‘capital campaign’ was used for the other half.
The project costs $230,000, but Camp Anderson has a goal of raising $250,000.
So far, officials say only $85,000 has been raised for the project.
“Whether that’s $5 here or there or a larger donation, whether it’s long-term planning or estate planning, we need help in a lot of different ways. If we’re to continue providing this incredible outdoor experience for the folks of our region,” says camp VP Cummins McNitt.
