GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – The U.S. News & World Report unveiled the highly anticipated 2023-2024 Best High Schools rankings.

The rankings include a comprehensive evaluation of nearly 18,000 public high schools across the nation, state, and local levels, offering valuable insights into educational excellence. This year’s rankings recognized schools whose students have achieved remarkable outcomes, surpassing expectations, and demonstrating exceptional performance, including high graduation rates.

Here’s how Mesa County schools ranked in the report:

Caprock Academy ranked 63 in Colorado and 2,164 nationally

Palisade High School ranked 99 in Colorado and 4,038 nationally

Fruita Monument High School ranked 110 in Colorado and 4,632 nationally

Grand Junction High School ranked 157 in Colorado and 7,865 nationally

Grand River Academy ranked 189 in Colorado and 9,886 nationally

Central High School ranked 201 in Colorado and 10,622 nationally

Mesa Valley Vision Home and Community Program ranked 231 in Colorado and 12,524 nationally

Other high schools on the Western Slope such as those Telluride, Basalt, Ridway, Durango, Meeker, Delta, and Glenwood Springs, etc. ranks vary, and can be viewed here.
