Three winners of Hiawatha Chamber & Visitor Bureau’s Shop Local event were announced on Thursday, Dec. 26 and Monday, Dec. 30.
The grand prize winner was Horton resident Mckenna-Boller Simon, whose winning ticket was with Main Street Flower Shoppe for $500.
The second place prize winner was Hiawatha resident Noel Boye, whose winning ticket was with Hiawatha Farm & Home for $300.
The third place winner was Hiawatha resident Stacy Mackey, whose winning ticket was with Blue Byrds Creativity Room for $200.
All winners were given 24 hours to claim their tickets. The prize was Chamber Bucks, which are used to spend at any of the businesses involved in the Shop Local event.
HCVB Administrator Sarah Kleopfer remarked positively on Shop Local’s success.
“Shop Local is an annual event that is always successful for our participating businesses,” Kleopfer said. “We love to see people shopping on our local businesses!”
HCVB President Katie Miller also praised this year’s Shop Local event.
“We are always thrilled at the excitement Shop Local brings to the holidays,” Miller said. “We love people out shopping in our community and Shop Local is a fantastic way for individuals to get to know new businesses that they may have not discovered yet. We sincerely hope participants found joy and new favorites this holiday season and encourage everyone to keep shopping local all year long.”
