Hawaii student named finalist in ‘Doodle for Google’ contest

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A Mililani Ike Elementary School student has advanced to the national finals of the “Doodle for Google” contest.

Katherine Bursack is the winner of the kindergarten through 3rd grade “Imagination Award” and a top-5 national finalist.

Her artwork is entitled “Ocean in Motion.”

Her wish for the next 25 years is for “mermaids to be in the ocean and dragons in the sky. And magic is everywhere.”

If she wins, she will receive a $55,000 college scholarship, a $50,000 technology package for her school, plus Google hardware and swag.
