MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Governor Evers announced Thursday the award of $20.7 million in grant money that will be given to 22 state municipalities for public infrastructure improvement projects.
The grants are administered by the Wisconsin Department of Administration (DOA) to low- to moderate-income communities with populations of 50,000 people or fewer throughout Wisconsin. The projects that will be funded by this money include improvements, repairs, street expansion, drainage systems, water and sewer systems and other community facilities.
Evers is confident that all of the projects funded through these grants will help support jobs and improve quality of life.
“Whether it’s updating water systems to ensure the community’s water supply is clean and reliable or supporting important road improvement projects to make sure folks can get to work and school safely, we are committed to building the infrastructure Wisconsinites need and deserve in every corner of our state,” said Evers.
The Community Development Block Grant Public Facility (CDBG–PF) grants awarded $1 million to 19 of the municipalities for utility and infrastructure improvements, including for Beaver Dam and Lancaster. To see a complete list of the communities receiving money, click here.
