Nearly $3 million in state funding is headed to Citrus County to help support infrastructure and economic development around a planned industrial park.

In a news conference in Crystal River on Thursday, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced a $2.8 million grant from the Florida Job Growth Grant Fund.

The grant will help support Holder Industrial Park, which will be located off U.S. 41 and N. Lecanto Hwy. in the Citrus Springs area.

“We’re not the ones actually creating the jobs,” DeSantis said. “We’re creating an environment so that you can have more manufacturing and more industry.”

Several state and county leaders joined the governor at Thursday’s news conference.
