Google Unveils Fitbit Ace LTE Watch for Kids

Must read

If you’ve got a kid aged 7 and above you can now have them enjoy a better immersive experience with a wearable fitness tracker.

Thanks to a partnership between Google and Fitbit, a new Ace LTE watch has been launched that transforms exercises into play and fun activities.

This comes after Fitbit, an American manufacturer of wearable fitness trackers now owned by Google, sought to find a solution to prevent young children from spending too much time on smartphones and screen time, which could negatively affect their behavioral and educational outcomes.

Now, with the new smartwatch, children can play fun 3D games that use the watch’s motion sensors and sounds to make things super interactive. Essentially, the more they move around, the more they get to play, with Fitbit promising to add new games to the mix every few months to keep things fresh.

Another interesting fun fact is that the smartwatch can be programmed for calls and messages with up to 20 people, which means that if you have kids, you can stay in touch with them without them having to use their phones.

Other features of the Ace LTE include a location finder for tracking your kids, health-related functions such as calories, heart rate, and active minutes, and a safety and privacy measure to enable you to manage settings such as school time to help reduce distractions during class.

To set up the Ace LTE for your kids, simply download the iOS or Android Fitbit Ace app to your phone and sign up and pay using the Fitbit data plan, which enables built-in LTE connectivity for calling, messaging, and location sharing.
