Google TV Adds More Channels Ahead of New Product Launch

Google TV just hit a major milestone — the streaming service now offers viewers 150 channels.
Google TV added 14 channels to its streaming offerings, according to 9to5Google:
Billiard TV
Buzzr
The Rifleman
Xumo Free Nature & Wildlife TV
The Conners
World’s Most Evil Killer
Untold Stories of the ER
Xumo Free Bollywood & Indian Cinema
Ghost Hunters Channel
Highway to Heaven
Unspeakable
Cook’s Country Channel

The new channels are FAST — free, ad-supported channels — which have become more popular as users have started turning to services like The Roku Channel, Tubi and Amazon’s Freevee.
These latest channel additions have pushed Google TV to 150 channels, something MSN says is in preparation for “the launch of the Google TV Streamer box.”
The Google TV Streamer, set to launch Sept. 24, will allow users to “watch movies and shows from all your services and get personalized recommendations,” as well as “enjoy content from compatible apps on your phone, tablet, or laptop and cast right to your TV,” per Google’s website.

“The new channels are Cheaters, CBC News and Explore, Court TV Legendary Trials, Family Feud Classic, FilmRise Horror, FilmRise True Crime, Grit Xtra, Heartland, Laff More, Rig TV – with some coming from channel operators that already have a Google TV presence,” MSN reported.
As of August, Google has 136 FAST (Free, ad-supported TV) channels available for U.S. users. They can be found under the “Live” tab on Google TV.
“Google launched free, ad-supported TV (FAST) channels on Google TV last year. The arrival brought about 80 channels to start, with the number growing steadily in the time since. By the end of 2023, it was approaching 120 different channels,” 9to5Google reported.
