As summer winds down, students are gearing up to head back to school.
Google can track online searches to see what’s trending for students, parents, and teachers.
“The top trending teacher gift is Stanley cups this year. The top trending backpack brands are North Face and True Religion,” Google technology expert Gabriela Olivera said.
It’s not a surprise that many students are “Swifties.”
“Taylor Swift school supplies is the top trending school supplies theme,” said Olivera.
There are also tools for kids to get help with their homework. Geminiis Google’s large language model (LLM) which is used to generate and summarize texts and access Google AI.
Gemini learning added several new features including access to OpenStax, which links users with textbook information.
“Say for example, you’re in an economics class and you want to study up on supply and demand, you can say something like, ‘OpenStax, quiz me on or give me information on supply and demand,'” Olivera said.
Gemini also added Gems, which are like AI assistants.
“Say, for example, you’re wanting to prepare for your school schedule and your school year, you can create a Gem that is catered to any of those things,” said Olivera.
