Google sunsets Local Services Ads mobile app, shifts focus to web platform

Must read

Google will discontinue the Local Services Ads mobile app Jan. 6, making the website the sole interface for creating and managing these local advertising campaigns.

Key details:

  • Existing app users can continue using it until the shutdown date.
  • After Jan. 6, all Local Services Ads functionality will be web-based only.
  • Users’ ad campaigns, data, and ability to create new ads will not be affected.

Why we care. This change will require Local Services Ads users to manage their campaigns exclusively through the browser-based Google platform.

What they’re saying. In the announcement, the Local Services Ads team advised users to consult the Help Center for guidance on performing tasks on the website.

The big picture. This shift reflects Google’s focus on streamlining the Local Services Ads experience and encouraging users to leverage the full capabilities of the web-based platform.

First seen. Advertisers like Len Raliegh heard from Google about this update today and shared the email on X.

What to watch. Whether this change causes any disruption for Local Services Ads customers accustomed to managing their campaigns through the mobile app.
