Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 in for review

Must read

We finally have our hands on the Pixel Buds Pro 2, Google’s flagship wireless earbuds and the successor to the 2022 Pixel Buds Pro.

The second-generation model brings with it several changes. First of all, the design of the earbuds has been completely revamped with a much smaller shape that Google says makes them its most comfortable earbuds. The case design, however, remains largely unchanged except for the addition of a small speaker on the bottom.

Inside the earbuds is a new Google Tensor A1 chip, which is more powerful than the chip on the Buds Pro and can allegedly offer twice the noise cancellation performance. The audio processing is also claimed to have improved and although the drivers seem to be the same 11mm dynamic units from before, there is now a new high-frequency chamber for better highs. You get spatial audio with head tracking but the codecs are still limited to SBC and AAC.

Other features include multipoint pairing, AI-powered Clear Calling, beamforming microphones, conversation detection, and Hearing Wellness features. You also get 8 hours of continuous audio playback with ANC and 12 without.

The Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 are priced at $229 and available in four colors, Hazel, Porcelain, Peony, and the Wintergreen pictured here. We are currently working on our review and expect it to go live soon.
