India is a country of diverse cultures and various languages. Every region has its own language, dialect, and spelling standards. Google aims to bridge these gaps in communication throughout the world, including countries like India via its Google Translate feature.
In its latest and biggest expansion, Google Translate has included 110 new languages including regional languages like Marwadi, Santali, and Tulu. Google said that with the help of AI, they are working on improving their language recognition system of Google Translate to recognise different dialects and pronunciations. Google in its official release claimed that it will enable over 614 million speakers to use this feature.

Google claimed that they have collaborated with linguists and native speakers to ensure that the technology can understand regional dialects that are majorly used. This latest expansion has included African languages like Fon, Luo, Ga, Kikongo, Swati, Venda, and Wolf and Indian-regional languages such as Awadhi, Bodo, Khasi, Kokborok, Marwadi, Santali, and Tulu.
This will not only help users to communicate through various languages but also bring down the language barrier that exists in tech. Those who are unable to learn English might find this feature handy, and use it for various purposes.
