Google users looking for news Friday morning were left confused when searches came back with zero results.
The search engine’s news section appeared to be down for many users, with outage site Downdetector seeing a spike in reports compared to Google‘s usually-stable flat-line, starting around 8:00 a.m. ET

As of 9:20am ET the aggregator still appeared to be down. Some users on social media reported that Google’s search function was also not working.
The company has not yet made any announcement on the issue.
