WILMINGTON — Google Fiber is planning to start construction later this year to bring its high-speed network to Wilmington.
Wilmington will be the first coastal North Carolina city to integrate the network, according to senior communications manager Brandon Smith. The global tech company is currently expanding its network in other NC metropolitan areas, including Raleigh, Durham, and Charlotte.
Engineering is in process and the company plans to serve its first customers by 2025. Residents can find updates here.
