SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – Georgia Ports officials are meeting Monday to discuss how federal grants will be used.

The ports authority recently received three federal grants- all worth more than $120-million dollars.

Monday, the President and CEO outlined plans to improve electrical and rail infrastructure in surrounding communities.

For Savannah, nearly $50-million dollars will go towards power supply at the Garden City Terminal.

More than $48-million will also help the ports fund new electrical infrastructure.

It will be designed to reduce emissions at terminals.

They will also fund 16 new electric trucks and charging stations.

Lastly, the board chairman says the overpass being built at Savannah’s Ocean Terminal is part of the Ports master plan.

Port officials say it will take trucks from the port directly onto the highway.
