Lake Erie Medical Services (LEMS) has announced a second office location in Chautauqua County for general surgeon Abdul Shahzad, MD, FACS, FCCWS, CWS. Beginning Monday, Dr. Shahzad will see patients at 107 Institute St. in Jamestown, upon request.
Shahzad has over 40 years of experience in general surgery, including extensive experience in laparoscopic appendectomy and gallbladder surgeries, cancer surgeries and trauma wounds.
“I am very excited to be seeing patients in Jamestown,” said Shahzad. “Lake Erie Medical Services is expanding its services in an effort to make minimally invasive procedures with innovative technology available to patients in that area.”
“We have seen a positive response with the introduction of our LEMS orthopedic surgeons in Jamestown, and now I get the opportunity to expand all general surgery services but more specific – our minimally invasive technologies including laparoscopic colon, hernia and gallbladder surgeries,” he said.
Shahzad served as chief of surgery, co-director of critical care, director of trauma services and director of the wound center, all at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY. He was the the director of surgery at Ellenville Regional Hospital in Ellenville, NY just prior to arriving in Western New York and LEMS in early 2021.

In addition to seeing patients on Mondays, upon request, in Jamestown, Shahzad also welcomes patients at 419 Central Ave., Dunkirk, and at the Dunkirk Wound Care Center (716-363-3391) at Brooks Hospital. He has surgical privileges for general surgery and minimally invasive procedures at Brooks Hospital, 529 Central Ave., Dunkirk.
