CEDARBURG — A primary care clinic may open at the former Cedarburg BMO Harris Bank on Columbia Road, pending approval from the city.
The Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network is looking to operate a 8,100square-foot facility at N69W5269 Columbia Road that will have 12 exam rooms and an on-site laboratory. Patients will be able to connect with care teams at this location for pediatrics and internal medicine services, according to a press release from Froedtert Health.
The Froedtert & the MCW health network selected the location to expand the network’s number of access points for care, adding an additional convenient option for residents in Ozaukee County, the press release states.
“As part of the Froedtert & MCW health network, our plans to open a Cedarburg clinic supports our mission to increase access to academic medicine for our community, providing patients with excellence in care at the right place, at the right time,” said Amy Miller, chief medical officer of Froedtert & MCW Community Physicians.
According to the press release, the primary care clinic is slated to open in spring of 2025, pending approval from the city of Cedarburg.
No design plans for the building have been revealed. The Froedtert & the MCW health network is a partnership between Froedtert Health and the Medical College of Wisconsin supporting a shared mission of patient care, innovation, medical research and education, the press release states. The health network operates eastern Wisconsin’s only academic medical center and adult Level I Trauma Center at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee. The Froedtert & MCW health network has 10 hospital locations, more than 2,300 physicians and more than 45 health centers and clinics.
The Froedtert & the MCW health network runs a clinic and a neighborhood hospital in Mequon and a clinic in Port Washington.
The BMO Harris Bank on Columbia Road closed on Dec. 8, 2023. Prior to being a BMO Harris Bank, the Columbia Road building used to be Ozaukee Bank until 2008 when it was acquired by BMO Harris.
