A vacant former chain hardware store building that is targeted for multiple businesses has a new owner.
The Post-Journal and OBSERVER have been analyzing real estate sales in Chautauqua County and recently looked at the transactions from May 10-17.
During this time period, 10376 Rt. 60, Pomfret was sold to RDC Fredonia, LLC of Jamestown for $1.3 million. This is the former Valu Home Center building.
The OBSERVER reported in May that this location was being marketed by Venture Brokerage Group of Rochester for retail and warehouse space. It had lined up future tenants O’Reilly Auto Parts, Firehouse Subs, Ozone Smoke Shop, and an unnamed liquor store.
Venture Brokerage Group stated in an informational flier that a 2,519-square-foot store space is still open as well as 1,904 square feet intended for warehouse usage.
The Optimist Club of Jamestown, Inc. sold 2182 Hanson Road, Gerry in May to Folsom Creek, LLC for $179,000.
During this time period, there was one other sale over $1 million. The five bedroom, 2,205 square foot residence at 4583 Warners Bay Road, Ellery sold for $1,175,000.
Also during this time period, the Optimist Club of Jamestown, Inc. of Falconer sold 2182 Hanson Road, Gerry to Folsom Creek, LLC of Gerry for $179,000.
On Dec. 28, The Post-Journal reported state Supreme Court Judge Grace Hanlon approved the sale of the property to San Mar Woodlands LLC for $199,000, but that sale apparently fell through.
In the December court filings, the Optimist Club said participation in the use of the camp had diminished greatly over the years, adding that there are fewer individuals willing to volunteer for upkeep to the campgrounds.
Club members said proceeds from the sale were to be used to provide oratorical contests, sponsor Youth of the Month at the Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys and Girls club, offer college scholarships, and scholarships to conferences.
Also during this time, Rellax Inn, LLC of Findley Lake sold 2645 Shadyside Road, Mina to Daniel Flannery for $322,000. This is listed on Facebook as a former vacation home rental property and was called Rellax Inn Cottage Rental.
