Former project manager at Agile Infrastructure Service, LLC. sentenced in wire fraud scheme

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – A Sumter man has been convicted after diverting millions of dollars in government contracts for personal use.

According to the Attorney General’s Office, Daniel Criswell Lee, 55, was a project manager at Agile Infrastructure Service, LLC. and represented the company in the bidding process to obtain a government contract.

Officials said evidence revealed Lee diverted money received for a project to companies under his control. Lee reportedly obtained $2.8 million in funds.

The Better Business Bureau describes Agile as a construction management company.

The majority of the company’s federal awards have been issued by the Department of the Army’s Installation Management Command Southeast Region for work performed at Army facilities in Columbia, South Carolina, according to GovTribe.

United States District Court Judge Sherri A. Lydon sentenced Lee to 33 months imprisonment, to be followed by a three-year term of court-ordered supervision. Lee was also ordered to pay $2.8 million in restitution.
