After conducting inspections of flood damage, West Bland Street west of South Sycamore Avenue is closed. Also closed are bridges on the following roads: West Eighth Street, North Kentucky Avenue, North Virginia Avenue and East Mescalero Road.
In addition, the flooding caused breaks in municipal sewer lines in two locations. One is at the eastern edge of the city near the wastewater treatment plant at the end of East College Boulevard. The other is at the north end of the city behind the Roswell Mall.
These breaks should not affect sewer use at individual homes and businesses. A contractor is installing temporary bypass pumps while they repair these lines.
