YORKTOWN, NY — There’s something you need waiting for you in Yorktown — but you probably won’t know you need it until you see it.
The new Five Below, in the Yorktown Green Shopping Center, will be celebrating its grand opening this weekend, filled with fun, music, kids’ activities, and special prizes, according to a company spokesperson.
Everyone is invited to “experience all the fun, amazing value, and trendy products.” Customers who visit the store on Saturday will receive a free drawstring bag, while supplies last.
The company says that the new store will offer customers the opportunity to shop a variety of value products across different categories: Style, Room, Sports, Tech, Create, Party, Candy and New & Now. In addition, the new location will offer a Party Shop featuring a large selection of helium balloons, décor and favors.
The “trend-right, extreme-value brand for tweens, teens and beyond,” occupies part of the former Kmart store at the shopping center, which is undergoing a major revival. A T.J. Maxx store opened next door in November and a Michaels craft store is expected to open next month. A pickleball sports center is expected to also arrive in late August or early fall.
The shopping center began its revival in 2022 when Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace moved into the former Food Emporium that was vacant for a decade.
