A former Google LLC executive says he was wrongfully terminated for reporting on fraud and nepotistic practices in the tech company’s apprenticeship program, according to his lawsuit filed Tuesday in California state court.
Leilei Shan, who worked in various finance and engineering roles at Google for nearly 14 years—earning $666,000 last year as a senior manager of corporate engineering according to his complaint—accuses two of his superiors, Ying Liu and Jannie Affeld, of using their positions to personally benefit from the company’s apprentice program for years.
