WEST GREENWICH, R.I. (WJAR) — An early-morning fire Saturday in West Greenwich caused severe damage to one of the stores in a Victory Highway strip mall, with smoke damage to surrounding businesses requiring them to close as well.
During the day Saturday, owners and staff rummaged through what’s now left of their homes away from home.
This, the aftermath of a 2 alarm structure fire just after 2 this morning.
Crews were able to contain the flames to just one business, the West Greenwich Package Store, but all stores throughout the plaza experienced extreme smoke and water damage.
At this time, no cause of the fire has been identified.
