The best part of shopping for antiques is finding that one special piece you didn’t know you needed. Luckily, Northern Virginia is full of hidden gem antique shops to get you started on your search.  

Here are six NoVA-area shops you don’t want to miss.

Iron Horse Antiques  

A visit to this prominent antique shop will feel like stepping back in time and is sure to bring that feeling of nostalgia. In business since 1996, Iron House Antiques sits just outside Old Town Manassas and operates like an antique mall, boasting a large inventory of items. Iron Horse Antiques is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. 9200 Prescott Ave., Manassas 

Vintage Magnolia  

Just outside of historic Leesburg off Route 15, this shop is located where the old Piedmont Motel used to stand. In fact, you can still see traces of the in-ground pool outside where the shop now sells Amish-made outdoor furniture and vintage outdoor décor. From artwork and signs to lanterns and one-of-a-kind gifts, you are bound to walk out of here with something. The store is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday. 19487 James Monroe Hwy., Leesburg

Roaches in the Attic Antiques 

This antique shop, established in 1990, is in Herndon’s downtown historic district and features a wide variety of items. With over 1,500 square feet of space, you can find anything from period furniture and early American pattern glass to vinyl LP albums and other fine collectibles. It’s open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. 697C Spring St., Herndon 

Hummingbird’s Nest  

Located in the antique alley of Lucketts, Hummingbird’s Nest has a mix of antiques, vintage finds, and gifts, making it a great spot to hunt for treasure. You can find anything from jewelry and home décor to dishes and pottery. The shop hosts about a dozen vendors including Gray Fox Antiques, Nancy’s Collectibles, and Marsha’s Vintage Corner. The Hummingbird’s Nest is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Baileywyck Antiques  

With one of the largest collections in the Northern Virginia area (4,600 square feet), this upscale antiques and home décor store has rugs, lighting, tabletop pieces, art, furniture, and more curated from all over the world. Looking for something in particular? The shop can assist you with locating a specific piece. It’s open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays through Mondays. The shop is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. 4274 Loudoun Ave., The Plains 

Memories Antiques   

This Manassas shop, located in the Dominion Square Shopping Center, is filled with quality finds. Furniture, lighting, paintings, glassware, and jewelry are just some of the things you may come across. The store is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 10452 Dumfries Rd., Manassas
