The Forecast Funding Opportunities have been released for two of the Federal Government’s major urban planning programs, in order to help stakeholders prepare ahead of the programs opening to accept applications.
These forecast opportunities are to guide preparation for both the Thriving Suburbs and the urban Precincts and Partnerships Programs (uPPP).
The Thriving Suburbs Program will fund local infrastructure across cities and suburbs, so more people have access to important community infrastructure such as sporting and cultural facilities.
The uPPP will fund planning and investment based on the principles of unifying urban places, growing economies and serving communities.
These programs are set to support the delivery of best-practice investment in urban infrastructure, connecting people and communities to services and opportunities that improve liveability, equity and productivity.
Federal Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, Catherine King, said that enabling more communities to better plan and deliver community infrastructure linked to local priorities, including in the development of precincts, is critical to supporting great cities and suburbs.
“We are delivering fair and transparent community infrastructure programs for urban and regional Australia.”
