Under-pressure Manchester United Erik ten Hag faces a tricky Europa League clash at Turkish side Fenerbahce, who are now managed by former boss Jose Mourinho, on Thursday evening.
United came from a goal down to secure a much-needed 2-1 victory over Brentford on Saturday but have drawn both of their Europa League games this season against FC Twente and Porto, leaving them 21st in the standings.
In the latter of those, the Red Devils let a two-goal lead slip in Portugal before Rasmus Hojlund scored in stoppage time to rescue a 3-3 draw, so Ten Hag will hope Thursday’s evening clash in Turkey will be more smooth sailing as his job remains under instense scrutiny.
Mourinho’s side have a slightly better European record this term having beaten Union Saint-Gilloise 2-1 on Matchday 1 before also being held 1-1 by Twente last time out.
