EU prepares formal chargesheet against Google under DMA, Bloomberg reports – TipRanks.com

EU officials are preparing a formal chargesheet against Alphabet’s Google under the bloc’s Digital Market’s Act, paving the way for a fine and an order to change its business model unless Google takes swift actions to give more rank to rivals across its search engine, Bloomberg’s Samuel Stolton reports. The charges will target how the company displays rival product results across its different search services, such as Google Flights and Google Hotels, and could face steep penalties of up to 10% of global annual revenue if it fails to fix things in accordance with the rules, Stolton writes. The EU’s preliminary findings could be issued before the end of October, according to people familiar with the matter.
