Every January, the internet goes crazy with predictions for the year’s biggest shopping trends across beauty, fashion, home and beyond. The truth is that you never really know what’s going to stick for your personal taste. For me personally, I’m taking a cue from Pantone for my latest obsession. Pantone’s 2025 Color of the Year is Pantone 17-1230 Mocha Mousse, a super warm, rich brown color that feels neutral, comforting and relaxing. Pantone announced the 2025 Color of the Year back in December and with the way January 2025 is going, a comforting color feels totally necessary. If you’re looking to add some chill home decor, mocha-inspired beauty products or a few new espresso-hued accessories to your life this year, I’ve got you covered. Below, shop a few of my must-have products from Yeti, Cuisinart, lululemon and more in the elegant Mocha Mousse hue.

What inspired Pantone’s 2025 Color of the Year?

Laurie Pressman and Leatrice Eiseman, the Pantone Color Institute’s executive director, told USA TODAY that the brown shade of Mocha Mousse is meant to create a sense of harmony and warmth. In 2023 and 2024 Pantone chose shades of magenta and peach, respectively, reflecting a desire to be celebratory after prolonged COVID-19 lockdowns. Now, the world is ready to embrace a softer, quieter joy Pressman and Eiseman explained.

“For Pantone Color of the Year 2025, we look to a mellow brown hue whose inherent richness and sensorial and comforting warmth extends further into our desire for comfort, and the indulgence of simple pleasures that we can gift and share with others.” – Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute
