Work on the downtown Indianola square continued over the course of 2024, replacing aged utilities and the main focus on making the electrical infrastructure more secure in the future. IMU Executive Director Chris Desplanque tells KNIA News moving the electrical lines has been a major focus.
“All in an effort to underground our facilities. I think as you go around downtown, there are feeders and secondaries, and attached underbuild for Mediacom and CenturyLink. We want to get rid of all of those poles around the downtown area, that is our ultimate goal.”
