Earon Cooper, of Lawrence, found fatally shot in vehicle at Topeka shopping center

Topeka police Saturday afternoon were investigating the fatal shooting of a Lawrence man found the previous night in a vehicle at Holliday Square Shopping Center. No arrests had been made.

Officers were called about midnight on a report of a shooting in the 2900 block of S.W. Topeka Boulevard, where they found Earon Cooper, 31, suffering from a gunshot wound, said Lt. Ronnie Connell of the Topeka Police Department.

Cooper was pronounced deceased at the scene, Connell said.

Cooper became Topeka’s 11th homicide victim this year.

Police were continuing to investigate, Connell said.
