NYC Department of Parks has chosen a proposal for the Anchorage Plaza site between DUMBO, Brooklyn Heights and Downtown Brooklyn. The winning concept includes 12 pickle ball fields, dog run, ping pong, chess, bike racks, shaded seating, two food trucks and more amenities. The site has been closed to the public for over 10 years and has been used as a parking lot and storage lot for the Department of Transportation. CityPickle who runs courts in Central Park and Industry City has won the 3-year long concession deal and plans to offer fee-based open play, lessons and other pickleball programs at Anchorage Plaza.
