DOWNTOWN VALPARAISO PARTICIPATING IN NATIONWIDE “PINK FRIDAY” SMALL BUSINESS SHOPPING EXPERIENCE

Must read

Downtown Valparaiso will be participating in the nationwide Pink Friday small business shopping experience on Friday, November 22, 2024.

With over 25 local downtown retailers and restaurants participating, Pink Friday is a small business spin traditional Black Friday shopping and reminds consumers to shop small and local first this holiday season. Black Friday is the largest shopping day of the year, but the sales and promotions from big box stores often overshadow the experiences that small businesses are focused on providing. The goal on Friday, November 22 is to celebrate the businesses that are the backbone of our local community.

“Pink Friday was created to shine a spotlight on small businesses and encourage everyone to shop consciously during the holiday season,” says Ashley Alderson, Founder and CEO of The Boutique Hub. “There has never been a more important time than now to “Shop Small First”. Small businesses make a big impact in America’s communities, and it’s important that we support them as much as possible.”

Valparaiso Events has compiled a list of participating downtown retailers and restaurants, including their Pink Friday promotions (available on their website at https://www.valparaisoevents.com/event/pinkfriday). Customers can pick up a free reusable shopping tote and a map of participating businesses from their first shopping stop of the day.

“We like to think of Pink Friday as a way to shop and dine with your favorite local downtown businesses, giving them a chance to earn your business first before going big on Black Friday,” says Kasey Hoag, owner of Six Cypress Boutique. “Give the little guys a shot first to fill your holiday needs!”
