Democrats Urge NLRB to Probe Google on Worker Retaliation Claims

Nearly four dozen House Democrats have urged the federal labor board’s top lawyer to investigate allegations of retaliation against workers seeking to unionize Google parent Alphabet, Inc.

In a letter to National Labor Relations Board General Counsel Jennifer Abruzzo on Thursday, the lawmakers highlighted 12 pending unfair labor practice charges, alleging that Google and IT contractor Cognizant fired a group of YouTube Music workers who went on strike. The labor group, Alphabet Workers Union, has previously accused the company of retaliation.

The NLRB ruled in January that Google illegally refused to bargain with the union representing YouTube’s contract staff. …
