Deliverect, a global food tech SaaS company, has acquired Tabesto, a provider of all-in-one ordering and payment kiosks for restaurants and fast-food establishments. This strategic move expands Deliverect’s offerings beyond online order management and into the in-store dining experience, creating a more comprehensive solution for its restaurant clients.
Tabesto, founded in 2001, offers customizable kiosks that integrate with existing restaurant systems and POS setups. The kiosks feature integrated tap-to-pay and external payment terminal options, providing flexible and secure payment solutions. Tabesto’s technology has been shown to increase average transaction amounts by 15% to 30%, offering a compelling value proposition for restaurants looking to boost sales and improve operational efficiency.
This acquisition brings Tabesto’s kiosk technology and its team of 60 employees to Deliverect. Guillaume Hourmant, Tabesto’s CEO and co-founder, will lead the Deliverect Kiosk product strategy. While Tabesto will continue to operate in France and Switzerland, the Deliverect Kiosk product will be rolled out in the UK, Benelux, and Spain, with plans for further expansion across Europe and other global markets in the coming year.
This acquisition aligns with Deliverect’s broader vision of empowering restaurants to thrive in the digital age. By offering a unified platform that manages both online and in-store orders, Deliverect aims to streamline operations and enhance the guest experience for its restaurant clients. Deliverect’s POS system integrates with third-party delivery services, allowing restaurants to effortlessly manage both online and in-store orders from a single platform. This centralization streamlines order handling across multiple delivery services, reducing errors and enhancing the customer experience.
Deliverect also helps maintain inventory with real-time updates by integrating POS systems with inventory management tools, effectively reducing waste, preventing stockouts, and saving money. This ensures that best-selling items are always available while supporting informed purchasing decisions.
“At Deliverect, our vision has always been to help the food service community thrive in the digital age,” said Zhong Xu, Deliverect CEO and co-founder, in a press statement. “Today’s consumer wants the best of both worlds –– they’re looking for speed alongside a premium experience. The acquisition of Tabesto enables us to further support both on- and off-premise ordering experiences, allowing restaurants to manage their menus & operations centrally across all their digital channels.”
The self-service market is experiencing significant growth, projected to reach $63 billion by 2027. By integrating Tabesto’s kiosk technology, Deliverect is positioning itself to capitalize on this trend, offering its restaurant clients a solution to streamline in-store ordering, reduce lines, and enhance the customer experience.
This acquisition follows other recent initiatives by Deliverect, including the launch of Pulse, a marketing intelligence platform that integrates with delivery platforms like Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Deliveroo, giving restaurants critical insights into operations and competitive intelligence so they can increase order volume while optimizing on marketing, and Deliverect Retail, an order and delivery solution for the grocery and convenience sector. These moves demonstrate Deliverect’s commitment to expanding its product offerings and providing a comprehensive suite of solutions for businesses in the food service industry.
“Deliverect’s goal has always been to connect the restaurant with their customers –– whether that’s via third party delivery apps, reservation platforms, or marketing channels,” Zhong Xu recently explained to Restaurant Technology News in a Spotlight Interview. “Deliverect’s evolving products help make large restaurant operators’ lives easy so that they can spend less time understanding systems and more time doing what they love and cherish most – providing an excellent meal and dining experience to their patrons. That philosophy runs through everything that we do at Deliverect.”
