BEAVERTON, Ore. — A local student’s proposed Google Doodle artwork, wishing for a future full of female leaders and presidents, has been selected to compete in a nationwide contest celebrating Google’s 25th anniversary!
For 2024, in celebration of the corporation’s 25th anniversary, Google asked students to answer the prompt “My wish for the next 25 years” using their art.
55 state and territory winners have been announced from tens of thousands of submissions, and from these 55 entries a winner will be chosen to have their Doodle appear on the browser’s homepage.
PR agency C+C has announced that Inchara Shree from Tumwater Middle School in Beaverton is one of those 55 winners entering the next round.
Inchara’s artwork is titled ‘Dear Madame President,’ and portrays a quill pen and letter with the titular phrase, followed by Google’s name spelled out using a Venus symbol, a rainbow peace sign, and an American flag.
In a press release, Inchara said this about the meaning of the artwork:
Madame in French means “lady”. My wish for the next 25 years is to see more female leaders, specifically a U.S. president. Never in history how there been one U.S. woman president, and all I’m hoping for in the future is peace, equity, and equality…
Voting for the 25th anniversary Doodle is now open, and people can view all the entries and vote for their favorites HERE
