SILVER CREEK, NY – Cynthia L. Ballagh ,age 73 ,passed away Sunday June 16, 2024 at home on the Cattaraugus Territory of the Seneca Nation of Indians . Cindy was born March 25, 1951 ,into the Hawk Clan ,the daughter of Luman and Matilda (Twoguns) Jackson. A table designer , Cindy retired from the former DiaarË Furniture of Buffalo, a company specializing in building furniture . She also co-owned the former Traveling Smokes cigarette/tobacco shop on the reservation . Cindy donated to several organizations, to name a few include animal shelters like the SPCA, World Wildlife and Wildlife Best Friends , her love of animals was extended to her canine companion Harley. Cindy also donated to several Veteran Organizations which include the Wounded Warrior Project and Mutts With A Mission providing assistance through the use of service dogs to our disabled veterans . Not only did Cindy support our veterans and sheltered animals Cindy was also a consistent donor to the Buffalo City Mission. Survivors include a brother; Richard Gates of Gowanda , and a Sister In-Law Joyce Gates of Irving along with several nieces and nephews . Besides her parents Cindy was preceded in death by her husband Larry Ballagh , brothers; Fritz and Stoney Jackson , Melvin and LeRoy Gates , Sisters; Val Pierce and Betty Parker. Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00-7:00pm at the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME 44 Center St. Gowanda where funeral services will be held Wednesday June 19,2024 @ 10:00am . Interment to follow in the Seneca Nation Family Cemetery Rte. 438.
