Norfolk Southern Railroad and CSX Railroad have cut out their old grade crossings on state Route 60 and are ready to install new smooth crossings. This one-week project was initiated by Mayor Kate Wdowiasz’s DPW team working with the Federal Railroad Administration and with Dunkirk citizen Bob Maze who collected more than 600 resident signatures petitioning for these repairs. State DOT helped the railroads designate a safe detour route so these crossings could be repaired fully and safely.
