Copa America 2024 outright winner odds and tips

Must read

ALL eyes are turning towards Euro 2024, but the Copa America is also just around the corner, and it promises to be just as thrilling a summer spectacle.

Football’s longest-running continental competition is being held in the United States for just the second time in its history this year.

Argentina are the current holders of the trophy, having overcome fierce rivals Brazil in the 2021 final three years ago.

Having since gone on to win the World Cup in 2022, Lionel Messi and co will now be targeting a third major international tournament triumph on the trot.

What are Copa America 2024 outright winner odds?

An outright winner bet is typically placed before an event gets underway and it tends to be a wager on the overall winner of a competition or tournament e.g Who will win the Copa America?

Of course, there are countless other outright betting markets that punters can look to profit from.

One of the most popular outright markets for many bettors is the Top Scorer market – a selection on which player will finish the tournament as the leading goalscorer.

Other outright betting avenues include backing a side to reach a certain stage of the competition and punting on where a team will place in their group, to name just a few.

Who will win Copa America 2024?

Argentina – 7/4

Argentina are the pre-tournament favourites, and it is easy to see why following their all-conquering effort at the Qatar World Cup in 2022.

Lionel Scaloni’s side have barely put a foot wrong  following their exploits in the Middle East, having taken top honours from 12 of their subsequent 13 fixtures.

A rock-solid rearguard and a star-studded attack seems like the perfect formula for more success at this summer’s Stateside spectacular.

Expect another strong showing from Argentina, with a potentially mouthwatering grand finale against old foes Brazil deciding their overall fate.

Brazil – 9/4

Brazil are usually feared going into major tournaments, and even though they are not the force of old, expectations will still be high that they can clinch what would be a 10th Copa America crown.

The Samba stars were disappointedly knocked out of the 2022 World Cup in the quarter-finals, with current manager Dorival Júnior the third man to take charge of the national team since then.

While Brazil remain a work in progress, they have shown signs of promise under their latest boss, having earned wins against both England and Mexico either side of a draw with Spain

Having reached each of the last two Copa America finals, the Brazilians undoubtedly have the quality to be in the mix again this summer.

Uruguay – 5/1

If anyone can upstage the two heavyweights at the top of the outright market, it is Uruguay, who have the potential to hurt anyone on their day.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men will be a match for most this summer, and there is no reason why this team can’t go beyond the quarter-final stages for the first time since 2011. Notably, La Celeste have only failed to score in one of their 14 outings since losing 2-0 to Portugal at the 2022 World Cup.

As such, Uruguay should offer entertainment in abundance this summer, especially with the notoriously attack-minded Bielsa promoting a positive approach and getting a tune out of Darwin Nunez after a poor campaign at Liverpool.
