Must read

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – Consumers Energy is requesting to raise rates.

The utility company proposed a $325 million rate hike with the state’s public services commission. If approved, customers would pay about $10 more per month. It says the money is needed for infrastructure and service upgrades. The Public Services Commission has ten months to get input and decide whether to approve, reject or modify the request.

In March, it approved a $92 million rate increase for Consumers Energy electric customers.
