Tomorrow morning Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan will present a check for nearly $2 million in Community Project Funding (CPF) checks to the cities of Colonial Heights and Petersburg.

The project funding will pay for the Waterline Replacement Project to improve water quality and help prevent future water breaks that could risk contaminating the water supply. The city’s water distribution infrastructure directly affects thousands of residents.

McClellan will visit the city of Colonial Heights to deliver $959,752, which will fund renewal of the aging water infrastructure to improve water quality, capacity and pressure for many city residents.

McClellan will then travel to Petersburg to deliver $959,752 for its Poor Creek Force Main Capacity Improvements Project to replace the existing wastewater system to improve functionality and capacity for the public.

McClellan successfully secured the Community Project Funding through the Fiscal Year 2024 appropriations process.
