The Detroit Lions are on a quest to make franchise history. Standing in their way is a fiery Washington Commanders team set to visit the Motor City in the divisional round.

Jayden Daniels shined durimg the regular season, and he continued to dazzle in his first postseason game when he led Washington on the road to an upset win over the Tampa Buccaneers. Don’t let the No. 6 seed fool you, they are a dangerous team with an opportunity to put together an unexpected deep playoff run.

After earning the No. 1 seed in the NFC, Detroit returns to the field set on not only reaching the first Super Bowl in team history, but to win it. The Lions may be getting “Knuckles” back in their backfield, making the offense even more dangerous as the postseason begins.

Lorenzo Reyes: Lions 35, Commanders 21

Detroit, finally, is getting healthier, as running back David Montgomery appears set to make his return. He makes the Lion offense that much more dangerous, and opens the play action passing game even more for Jared Goff. The statuses of guard Kevin Zeitler and corner Terrion Arnold are still unclear, though coach Dan Campbell sounded optimistic. The Commanders have been a great story, but the Lions are a far stronger team.

Tyler Dragon: Lions 31, Commanders 25

Washington’s Cinderella season ends in Motown. The Lions defense is going to have its hands full against Jayden Daniels, but they will make some big stops in front of their home crowd. The Lions physicality upfront will also cause problems for the Commanders.

Jordan Mendoza: Lions 34, Commanders 31

This game has the potential to steal the show. Jayden Daniels continues to deliver and he’s able to play a great game in a hostile crowd. But in a back-and-forth affair, it’ll be whoever has the ball last, and that will be Detroit picking up in the win in a classic.
