High pressure has moved toward the East Coast and is making room for our next weather maker. In the meantime, most of Ohio is still enjoying mostly sunny skies this afternoon. Clouds will thicken up tonight and showers will begin to move into our part of the state by bedtime. A few rumbles of thunder are possible, especially in the southern half of the state, but nothing severe. Rain continues through the first half of Sunday with showers becoming isolated in the afternoon. Partial clearing in the evening gives us a quiet night.

High pressure makes a brief appearance on Monday with some sunshine and warmer temperatures. But it quickly retreats to the east. Warm, humid air invades the region on Tuesday becoming ripe for showers and thunderstorms to pop up in the unstable air. So far, it appears unlikely to be severe; we are lacking the upper-level support for strong storms. That said, some non-severe thunder is possible.

A cold front races toward the state on Wednesday with another chance for showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will still be well-above average as the front approaches. It arrives on Thursday, continuing our chance for showers and thunderstorms and adding gusty winds.

The same low-pressure system lingers on the Ontario-Quebec border Friday and Saturday. With a trough draped over Ohio, we will still have a chance for a few, scattered rain showers. Temperatures will be a little below average.

Marshall McPeek, Chief Meteorologist.
