Montgomery Village announced the new shops will open this year, including Blue Bottle Coffee and Salt & Straw ice cream.
The Montgomery Village shopping center is getting an ice cream shop and another coffee shop, along with some other stores in 2025.
“We’re thrilled to introduce fresh concepts The Village has never had before, such as a brewery, ice creamery, and much more,” said general manager Kris Miller in a Thursday news release.
The three new businesses are Blue Bottle Coffee, Salt & Straw ice cream and Sweetgreen. The businesses will join the 50-some shops in the center.
Blue Bottle Coffee has over 100 cafes in the United States and Asia — including several locations in San Francisco and the East Bay. This would be its first cafe in the North Bay.
Similarly, Portland-based Salt & Straw will open its first Sonoma County location. Last year, it collaborated with Russian River Brewing Co. to offer pairings such as ice cream made with Manchego cheese and sour cherry marmalade.
Sweetgreen offers salads and grain bowls. Launched in 2007 in Washington D.C., there are over 200 locations nationally with a dozen more openings planned, according to its website.
In January, The Press Democrat reported several businesses were earmarked for Montgomery Village including Fieldwork Brewery, Club Pilates, Sprinkles cupcakes, and the clothing stores Vuori and FP Movement.
Berkeley based Fieldwork Brewery is will also open its first Sonoma County spot to be located near SEA Thai Bistro.
Fitness studio Club Pilates, next to Sprinkles, will be near Raku Ramen & Rolls.
“We can’t wait to open our very first Sonoma County location in the heart of Santa Rosa,” said Emily Wisecarver, the Northern California director at Sprinkles. “We’re excited to bring a little extra sweetness to this wonderful community with our signature desserts.”
A sign for Vuori was spotted where Sole Desire used to be. This would be the third athletic clothing company at the open air shopping mall — the other two are Lululemon and FP Movement.
FP Movement, which opened Jan. 24, is an athletic wear brand connected to clothing company Free People.
Last August, Montgomery Village announced it would open three shops by the end of this year including luxury makeup store Bluemercury, Mendocino Farms restaurant, and facial spa Face Foundrie.
The announcement did not say when specific businesses will begin welcoming customers, but a spokesperson for the shopping center confirmed all 11 are expected to open this year. They did not comment on the ratio of occupied or vacant storefronts.
The release also mentioned the completion of a covered pathway connecting the center’s north and south ends, as well as a renovated courtyard.
As of this week, there are still construction projects underway — including a fenced off section where Cattlemen’s used to be. It’s unclear what will happen to that space.
